| 3 | Recent calls |
|
There have been no calls to our phone since the meeting on 3 June. However, Mumbles FRs had been called to an incident in Pennard whilst Dave and Sally were on duty. Betty had investigated and was told that Mumbles (Mark James) had been tasked because "he was mobile". One other incident occurred recently in Bishopston whilst Betty and Anne were on duty and they were not informed, however no details of the incident are known. |

10.1 A fully-trained member of Mumbles First Responders,
Mark Tovey, has moved to Bishopston and will join Pennard in the future. 10.2 Two new members are joining Pennard and will hopefully receive their initial training with Mumbles. ACTION: BETTY 10.3 Betty tendered her resignation as co-ordinator and George was nominated and elected to take over as co-ordinator. It was agreed that Betty will act as "deputy co-ordinator" for a month or two so that the hand-over is as smooth as possible. 10.4 Dave W asked for regular training/practice and was reminded that such sessions are scheduled every other month (see http://www.pennardfr.org.uk/training_and_meeting_dates_2010.htm) 10.5 It was agreed that a refresher course will be scheduled for Saturday 14 August (10:00am to 4:00pm). Betty to confirm with Steve Roberts and book a hall. ACTION: BETTY 10.6 Dave B questioned the need for maps to be kept in the kit in addition to the A-Z and SatNav. It was agreed that the A-Z (kept in the back pocket of the red bag) should be used in preference to the (Fire Service issued) maps - which can be used as backup. 10.7 Even though the kit check lists are not being filled in by everyone a reminder was given that the contents should be regularly checked (a) to see if everything is present and (b) that it's within its use-by date. This action will also help remind everyone where everything is located in the bags. |
