1.         Minutes of previous meeting

Not consulted.

2.         Matters arising
None.

3.         Setting up a bank account

Allan has researched the accounts on offer from the usual high street banks, three of which seem to offer the type of account we require. He was given the cheque from the Pennard Community Charity and asked to act as treasurer. The choice of bank was left up to him. Jeremy, David and Pauline offered to act as signatories along with Alan. It was agreed by all present that, after accepting the money for the jacket and embroidery from Allan, (once the account has been set up) we would each donate £12 each back into the account, thereby building up a cash reserve.

Action: Allan

4.         Web domain name

Jeremy explained why it would be an advantage to register a domain name for our web site and indicated the cost of doing so. A number of alternative names were considered and it was agreed to register the name pennardfs.org.uk.

Action: Jeremy

5.                  AOB

·        Visor signs: Dem has a catalogue containing signs that clip onto the sun visor in one’s car. “First Responder” signs are available at about £8 each. It was decided to wait until our financial position is clear before proceeding.

·        Attendance at events: Dem mentioned that we could attend various events, e.g. Murton Flower Show or the Gower Show, to act as medical back-up, and raise our profile. David urged caution as many members were not first aid qualified and suggested that we should only attend alongside other first aid groups such as the St John Ambulance to offer oxygen and AED deployment should it be required.

·        Pennard Carnival: Helen asked if we should book a stand at the carnival again this year. This was agreed. Dem suggested we use some of our funds to buy a banner.

·        Boot sale: Frances suggested we take a table in the forthcoming school car boot sale and said she’d try to get the usual £5 fee waived. This was agreed, so would all members please root out suitable items for the sale!

·        Gaps in rota: All the gaps in the forthcoming rota were filled by volunteers present.

6.                  CPR Practice

All present participated in a useful practice session with little Annie, using our new breathing mask. Nellie the elephant will never sound the same again!
