Pennard Community First Responders

Minutes of the meeting held on 27 June 2005

Present: Dem, Laurie, Margaret, Frances, Allan, Pauline, Eleanor

Apologies: Jeremy

1.         Minutes of previous meeting

Not consulted.

2.         Matters arising
None.

3.         Bank account status

Allan kindly handed out a balance sheet to all present. He also mentioned about fund-raising at the carnival and has already been working hard producing turned wood items for sale. any other ideas welcome..

4.         Web site security

David was concerned about this. All present decided that as long as no full names were mentioned, and no mention of members of the team being away at any time, that would be OK.

5.                 Carnival

As usual this will be left to Helen to organise, but she would appreciate all the help she can get!

6.         Volunteer update

We have at least three, possibly four, ready for the next training session.

7.         Heart Start Session for Pennard/Bishopston

It was decided that as it was proving difficult to sort things out in Bishopston, we should go ahead and arrange one in Pennard. Helen will bring this up with the council and try to get the hall without cost. As soon as we have an available date we can arrange with Adrian Hughes for a meeting. Jeremy can arrange for the posters to be printed at a nominal cost and I know that they can be delivered free with the Herald.

8.         Bike Race Volunteers

We were asked to help out by Andrew Jones (Heart Foundation) and so many thanks to Eleanor, Margaret, Jeremy, Francis and Helen for providing cover. Last year Dem was invited to attend a dinner at Alberto Culver (sponsors) as a result of our input. If we are invited again this year, it will be an opportunity for someone else to attend with their partner.

9.         Calls

There was a brief update on recent calls.

10.       Co-ordinator

As there were so few present it was hardly worth discussing. It was decided that Jeremy would post it on the web and see if any members have any comments to make.
